Rules: Keeping us from 'Unleashing our Imagination'?

 Fanfiction Rules and my opinions.
Normal Type: Rules
Italics: Me
Here is a list of conducts that should always be observed:
Spell check all story and poetry. There is no excuse for not performing this duty. If you do not have a word processor that has the spell checking feature, use a search engine such as Google.com to find one.
This is understandable. You wouldn't want to look like an idiot. I use a spell check for almost all my things. Firefox has a built in spell check, which comes in handy.
Proofread all entries for grammar and other aspects of writing before submission. 'Hot off the press' content is often riddled with errors. No one is perfect but it is the duty of the writer to perform to the best of his/her ability.
This is also understandable. Read through it several times, fix your mistakes and if necessary, get a Beta.
Respect the reviewers. Not all reviews will strictly praise the work. If someone rightfully criticizes a portion of the writing, take it as a compliment that the reviewer has opted to spend his/her valuable time to help improve your writing.
Of course you should respect them. But what happens if they don't respect you? Should you still respect their opinions? We have tried very hard to be civil, but if we don't get their respect, why do they deserve ours?
Everyone here is an aspiring writer. Respect your fellow members and lend a helping a hand when they need it. Like many things, the path to becoming a better writer is often a two way street.
These...reviews these people have been giving are anything but a helping hand. They call things toxic waste, and swear a million times a review. If they were simply just trying to help that would be fine, but I'm afraid to say that they aren't being very...helpful.
Use proper textual formatting. For example: using only capital letters in the story title, summary, or content is not only incorrect but also a disregard for the language itself.
WELL OF COURSE THIS ISN'T CORRECT! IT WOULDN'T LOOK RIGHT IF I PUT CAPS LOCK ON AND TYPED MY WHOLE STORY LIKE THIS; WOULD IT?
The chapter system is not to be used as placeholder for non-story content such as author notes. You can add short author notes to the beginning or at the end of stories but never as individual chapters.
I'm guilty as charged for this one. Every once in a while I have to add one.
Entries not allowed:
Non-stories: lists, bloopers, polls, previews, challenges, author notes, and etc.
I can understand this one. FanFiction is meant for stories.
Stories with non-historical and non-fictional characters: actors, musicians, and etc.
So uh...Why is there a Big Time Rush or Jonas Brother section?
Any form of interactive entry: choose your adventure, second person/you based, Q&As, and etc.
Then why is it 'Unleash your Imagination' If you can't Unleash it?
Chat/script format and keyboard dialogue based entries.
Again? Why Can't you unleash your imagination?
Actions not allowed:
Multiple entries of the same material. There can only be one copy of any unique story on the entire site. No exceptions.
Rewriting names of characters/locations of one story in order to upload to multiple categories.
That's cheating. Write your own stories and put a different idea in each one.
Copying from a previously published work (including musical lyrics) not in the public domain.
So...sonfics? Again, what happened to 'Unleash your Imagination'?
General rules:
Entry title and summary must be rated K for all audience. No exceptions.
'Kay, I guess that's fine. I mean personally I don't believe in swearing or M rated content.
Entry must be given the proper rating. No exceptions.
Well if something is rated K but it's really M content and a heavy Christian 13 year old starts reading it...well...
Entry must be placed in proper category. No exceptions.
I've seen Glee stories placed under a Percy Jackson category. Please place your stories right.
Chapters of the same story are not allowed to be submitted as separate entries. All chapters/segments must be grouped together using the 'edit/upload chapter' feature in the left menu.
*Winces* I did this accidentally, when I was a newbie to the site.
I think they should be less...strict about these rules. It might be a mistake. It might be a newbie thing. And we might be trying to, 'Unleash our Imagination'.
Thanks.

Why? Because of stuff like this.

(This is DeathDealer1997)
This is the review to DeathDealer's story
This is me.
From: Painful honesty
(I hope you don't mind but I censored the swear words in your review for the younger audiences)
Deathdealer1997: Before we begin I would like to address a very reoccurring problem, people starting these blogs without permission from the original bloggers. It is required that anyone who wishes to make a blog in the YJ Section ask myself or one of the other blogger and wait for a reply.
Deathdealer1997 (again): And you are required to do this because I'm a ******* ***** with an ego the size of a ****** galaxy and like to feel important by forcing people do what I want. Also, I want to feel like I'm a ****** and not a whimpy punk who gets punched in the face everyday at school for being a ******* geek who flunks every class.
(There is no correct way for me to reply to that, so I just won't)
Now that we got that out of the way. Tell me you ******* retard, why are you breaking the rules of the site on purpose again? And using a stupid sock account? Do you think people like CU won't find you?
(1. Because the rules aren't helping ANYONE, not even the administrators, just limiting the imagination of the common author)
(2. I outright tell who I really am in the description, does it seem like I'm hiding? I know they'll find me, but what can they do? Report this decoy?)
Idiot. I found you, and I'm from a different group that operates in secret (I am trying to make us public, though) so how long do you think CU will stay away from this?
(Of course you found me, I want everyone to know where this is. That's the whole point of putting it on FanFiction)
Anyway, you little punk, this **** of yours is breaking the rules and I reported every single chapter of this crap. I will laugh at you when your account is deleted for multiple violations.
(And what do you gain from this? I really must ask, what do you gain?)
But you're such a ******* idiot that you will blame the site administrators instead of realizing that you're the one acting like a ****
(You have sweared 7 times so far, can we please carry ourselves like adults and have a civil chat?)
You do realize that you are acting much more like a ******* villain instead of like the heroes you claim to admire? I bet you jerk off to Joker pictures and worship that crazy clown.
(In case you haven't noticed, I have not insulted you ONCE! I have not insulted any flamer ONCE! Now if you don't mind, can we please carry ourselves like adults, thank you)

(I really must ask you, who are the rules helping? The administrators? People are starting to hate them because of how strict their rules are. The authors? Countless stories, some of the best ever written, have been deleated because of the pointlessly strict rules. The readers? They can't enjoy all the brilliant works of fanfiction that have been deleated. You? I really must ask, what are you gaining from all this? And as a closing statement to our "civil" chat, I quote the motto of the website. "Unleash your Imagination." The rules completely go against this motto, and force us to follow a strict code "my way or the highway." They want us to follow their rules like mindless sheep, I say be imaginative and more importantly, be an individual. Thank you)

This is from DeathDealer1197:
(As a closing statement, this is a message to all who wish to harm me or my fellow bloggers. I do not hate you. I hold no grudges against you. If you decide to just end this and walk away, we will not seek retribution for the trouble you have caused. We just want to entertain our readers, there are many people who enjoy reading this blog. And if you say otherwise, you are just fooling yourselves. Look at the reviews, the proof is there that our blogs are doing more good than harm, we are not the villains in this situation and we do not deserve your hatred. I doubt you will actually read this, but it had to be said)

As you can see we are much more civil than the FFTP or CU (Flamers for the Purification and Critics United)
This is why we need to stand up for ourselves.
Thanks.

New blog

Hey guys,
This is my new blog called Take A Stand Against Critics United.
We need to take a stand.
There are stories that we all love, that have been taken down. Please join me in the fight.
